Day 10 - changing the world one person at a time...

Today film star, Angelina Jolie, has been all over the news - not promoting a new film as you might expect, but instead promoting awareness of the rape that can go on during times of war and conflict. The message she has been trying to get across is that it is never acceptable to perform an act of rape, even during conflict, and that there is never any way to justify it happening.

It is a very important message, and both this and all the other work she does for the U.N leaves me with nothing but respect for her. It is just a shame more celebrities don't follow her example.

Whether you rate her as an actress or not, I applaud her attempt to try and change perceptions and hopefully help make this world a better place to live in!

She is a shining example to us all, and it is such a tremendous thing that someone, who is such a role model for young girls growing up, would do this.

It does not happen often, but words fail me. I only hope my own daughter grows up to be so inspirational in the long years to come.

Certainly she makes me feel as though everything is all not yet lost. When there are good people like her in the world, it makes you feel as though suddenly the future might not be so grim after all.
